Call roster for a hospital unit

Requests in one sheet, then five rosters to choose from.

The problem

Fitting 20-odd MOs' requests, leave and exams into a roster by hand can take evenings.

What it does

  1. MOs add requests in one sheet

Make a request sheet for any period; each MO types their own requests.

  2. Five finished rosters to choose from

Choose from five rosters: requests granted, empty slots, the score.

  3. Everyone's calls, side by side

Each doctor's calls, standbys and weekends, group by group.

  4. Lands in your sheet as a locked tab

Put your choice into your sheet as a new locked tab.

All names shown are fictional. Pictures and videos come from roster.sg's demos, never from a real roster.

Everything it can do
  • Make the request sheet as a Google Sheet for any period you choose, with the public holidays and duty rows in place, and a link to send round.
  • Let each MO type their own requests: call request, no call, leave, exam, afternoon off.
  • Solve the period, call and standby for two areas over three groups of MOs, on a machine, usually in 2 to 3 minutes; you can leave the page meanwhile.
  • Choose among the five rosters kept, each with requests granted, empty slots and how its score is made up.
  • Tune the scoring weights and the minimum calls per doctor.
  • Put the chosen roster into your sheet as a new locked tab, the request tab untouched.
  • Keep every past sheet and solve; a deleted sheet can be restored for 7 days.

A roster covers any period with a start and an end date: a month, six weeks, a quarter or longer, up to about 20,000 request cells, which is 22 MOs over roughly two and a half years.
